This article is an interview with Travis Knight, the animator behind Coraline and ParaNorman and his new movie The Boxtrolls. In the article he talks about his new movie and how he is trying something different from his previous horror-esque movies. The Boxtrolls takes more of a comedic approach and tries for whimsy over creepiness. He also talks about how he makes his movies by combining CG with stop-motion animation.
This is a cool interview and taught me that using clay characters and toys aren't the only way these movies are made( and also the Tim Burton didn't make ParaNorman). I honestly would have never thought 3D printing was used to make stop motion films. It proves there are some other good stop motion film makers besides Tim Burton and Seth Green.
