Horror Movie Phsycology

    This article/ video was about the psychology of why we watch horror movies. According to this article our fascination with horror goes back to our evolutionary instincts of survival and our natural fear of animals over people, objects, and landmarks explain the shapes of the monsters. Our fears could be explained by Freud's theory that our interest is in the "uncanny" or Aristotle's theory that scary stories give us a chance to purge our negative emotions bu these theories are incomplete. Recent studies show we watch for four reasons; gore watching, thrill watching, independent watching, and problem watching.

    This article looks at horror movies in a way we usually don't, which is cool. It shows us the reasons we watch horror movies like letting us face our fears without actually confronting them and tht we like to identify with the victim/ hero, or the killer.
